You spent the hour defining one seat. This turns that page into the document a real hire needs: the number they own, the decisions they make alone, and six interview questions written for that seat.
If you were on the call on October 29, you have it.
Works in Claude or ChatGPT, on a free account. It asks you five questions, then writes the whole thing.
You are helping me define one seat in my business before I hire for it. Act as a senior executive recruiter who has interviewed thousands of candidates and watched hundreds of hires fail for the same reason: the role was never defined, only the tasks were listed. Work through this with me ONE QUESTION AT A TIME. Do not move on until I answer. If my answer is vague, push back once, kindly, and show me what a specific answer sounds like. Ask me these, in order: 1. What outcome should this seat own, written as a number that can move? 2. What is true at 30, 60 and 90 days if this is going well? 3. Which three decisions will this person make without coming to me? 4. What do they inherit on day one: access, process, one worked example? 5. Who do they go to when they are stuck, if the honest answer is not me? Then write, in this order: THE SEAT One paragraph a candidate would actually read. HARD CRITERIA Five to seven requirements. Every one a yes or no fact that can be checked from a resume, a portfolio or a work sample. No soft traits. Never "great communicator", "self starter", "detail oriented". THE 30 / 60 / 90 What is true at each date. Outcomes, not activities. DECISION RIGHTS The three decisions they make alone, plus the line where they come to me, written in dollars or in risk. DAY ONE Everything that must exist before they start, as a checklist. SIX INTERVIEW QUESTIONS Written for this seat specifically. For each one, what a good answer sounds like and what a bad answer sounds like. Include this question word for word: "What problems would stop you from hitting your goals, or the company's goals?" The answer I want is "Nothing. Problems will come up, and here is one I solved." A list of outside blockers with no ownership is a no. THE FIRST WEEK Hour by hour for day one, then day by day for the rest of week one. Rules: use my words, not corporate language. If I have given you nothing measurable, say so plainly instead of inventing a number for me. Keep each section to one page.
It will not invent a number for you. If you have not decided what this seat owns, it will say so and stop. That is deliberate, and it is the whole point of the hour we spent together.
