Walk to Earn
Hit 10,000 steps a day. Walk the furthest. Take the $100.
One rule. That is it.
Walk 10,000 steps and the whole day goes on your total.
9,800 = zero.No half points, no rounding up. Add up your good days, and whoever has the biggest pile on 28 September takes the hundred dollars home.
Can we reach Hawaii?
There are 35 of us. If every single one of us hits 10,000 every single day, we walk 9,800,000 steps between us.
That is 7,350 km. Manila to Honolulu is 8,528 km. So the minimum gets us 86% of the way to Hawaii and drops us in the ocean.
Here is the fun part. If all 35 of us walk 11,600 a day instead of 10,000, we land in Honolulu exactly. That is 1,600 extra steps. About fifteen minutes of walking.
And it does not matter even a little bit who walks them. Whether you finish first or thirty fifth, your steps push the same line.
How to play
Every morning I post everyone who hit 10,000 the day before.
Everyone. Not just the leaders. And I post mine first.
The boring bit
This is completely voluntary. It has nothing to do with your work, your hours, or your reviews. Nothing here is tracked or looked at for any other reason. Want to sit it out? Totally fine, and nobody will mention it again.
Every entry needs a screenshot showing the date and the count. Before the $100 goes out, the top three send one more: the month view from your step app. Ten seconds, and it means the winner walks away with nobody quietly wondering.
Walk your own steps. Anything over 40,000 in a day gets a friendly second look, that is roughly 30 km. Shaking your phone or letting an app make numbers up ends your run.
